Putting books in the hands of children 

Spread the Word Nevada | 2023 

In 2023, Foundation XNL sponsored Spread the Word Nevada’s Kids to Kids program at Helen Toland Elementary School, helping make books a meaningful part of children’s everyday lives. 

Through the program, every child has the opportunity to choose a book to take home and keep each month. That element of choice matters. When children select books that reflect their own interests and curiosity, reading becomes something personal rather than simply an assignment. 

A book of their own can spark imagination, build confidence, encourage independence, and open a child’s mind to people, places and possibilities beyond their immediate world. 

Foundation XNL’s support helps put books directly into the hands and homes of Southern Nevada children—one book, one child and one opportunity to discover a lifelong love of reading at a time.
